We at Indiedevlab keep on doing experiments from local to global searches.We recently ranked our own web property in top five of Google.com for around 10,000 global searches. This case study can be used by any small businesses or any businesses targeting global searches.
Requirement:
Rank a new website in the home improvement category in top 5 of Google.com and target keywords of over 10,000 monthly searches
Keyword Research:
We focused on identifying keywords which have:
1. High search volume
2. Low Competiton
3. Buy intent keywords which will help in sales/lead generation

Following are the factors we checked for analysing the competition in Google-
- Brainstormed all the keywords possible for the website and group the similar keywords together.
- Analysed back link profiles of competitors by using various third party tools like Moz or Majestic.
- Selected keywords for which weak competitors are ranking
Content: We created authoritative content that is trusted by Google
On Page: We performed the following activities
- Title Tag
- Header tag
- Authority linking
- Interlinking of the pages:- You have to make sure you interlink the pages as this helps in flowing the link juice throughout the website. We call it silo structure.
Performance: - We made sure that site load time is less than 2 seconds. Th

Backlinking :- These are the steps we use for backlinking-
- Search for hi PR and hi DA similar websites and forums and try to have contextual link from them.
- Focus on the websites which has got high authority
- Social Bookmarking
- Vary anchor text:- always try to vary your anchor text as much as possible as this looks very natural to google.
- Focus on relevance

It is a heck of an experience of ranking this website in google US sitting here in UK. This process can be replicated in any website and in any country either for local business or any niche website. This website is getting 200- 250 visitors a day now and we are targeting to make that to 1000 visitors per day.
